Best Running Gear for Women

Mirity Racerback Sports Bras

For a woman, support for her ladies is essential. A Mirity sports bra is soft, stretchy, and super breathable.  It’s built for med – high impact activities; its clasp-free, wide-shoulder strap design gives enough support that you won’t need to take that extra sports bra with you.

The FITTIN sports bra has a flattering V-neck and skinny racerback for better mobility because it’s all about confidence, support, and comfort. It comes in a variety of colors as well.

Under Armour Women’s Fly By 2.0 Running Shorts

Old-school running shorts are the best choice for running during warm weather.  Under Armour Women’s Fly has a lightweight, woven material that wicks sweat and dries quickly.  These shorts have super-breathable mesh panels that get rid of excess heat.

Under Armour’s running shorts are 100% polyester and are the best when it comes to comfort so you can easily wear them while running and post-running hangouts. Their shorts also have front hand pockets with a hidden back storage pocket to keep your keys and cash.

Brooks Women’s Ghost 12 Running Shoe

Finding the best running shoe is the best thing you can do.  No two feet are exactly the same.  I highly suggest getting your foot outfitted.  Find your local shoe store that still has this available like Fleet Feet.  All you have to do is make an appointment.

I love the Brooks Womens Ghost running shoe.  It has made a world of a difference in my running.  This shoe is for neutral runners looking for a lightweight shoe and a smooth ride without sacrificing cushioning.  It provides high energizing cushioning. Ideal for road running, cross training, the gym or wherever you might want to take them!

Tracer360 – Reflective Vest for Running

Running when the sun isn’t out can be a dangerous thing if you aren’t seen. That is why I highly suggest getting a Tracer360 Reflective Vest.  Unlike other reflective running vests and hi viz cycling gear, the flexible fiber optic cables, and 3M reflector chest belts actively keep you safe by alerting distracted drivers and traffic before their headlights are on you. The unique X shape of the led lights guarantees a larger visibility area, illuminating both sides of the body and making you visible from over a quarter mile in any direction.

It is also lightweight, changes colors, and expands it to fit over your cold weather coat or jacket or adjust it down to fit more snug on t-shirts or singlets during those hot summer night activities.

Fitness Tracker: Fitbit Charge 4

You were a fitness tracker everywhere, so choosing one can be pretty personal. I’ve really enjoyed Fitbit. The Charge 4 is one of the most affordable watches for runners. You can use the built-in GPS to see your pace and distance on screen during outdoor runs, rides, hikes and more and see a workout intensity map in the app that shows your heart rate changes along your route.

With Active Zone Minutes, feel a buzz when you reach your target heart rate zones during exercise, and celebrate when you earn extra minutes outside of exercise. I also really like the Garmin Forerunner. You can’t go wrong with either one. They are both the best running gear for fitness trackers.

PLOVZ 6 Pack Women’s Running Headbands

These running headbands are a unique and stylish solution for fitness enthusiasts. These women’s headbands are made of polyester and spandex, which makes these running Boho headbands for women so soft and comfortable.

The Fitness Headband stretches easily while maintaining a comfortable fit. They also offer different styles and colors that you can easily match with your everyday clothes. Just hand-wash the headband after your workout and leave it to air-dry.

Running Belt/Fanny Pack

If you’re a new runner, you’re going to see a lot of people out there carrying a whole lot of things, in a lot of different ways. If I were trail running for miles and miles, all by myself, I would wear a running vest to distribute weight evenly. I also have a Koala Clip for short runs to hold my phone in my bra.

But many times, I just run with my phone in my hand and leave my water at the car for a short run.

Powerbeats3 Wireless Earphones

Sometimes the only thing that gets me out the door is listening to music. If you have an iPhone, Powerbeats connect seamlessly and they charge with the same Lightning cable that you already have on your desk.

They fit securely, are rated IPX4 for water resistance, and are durable enough for me to toss in my key bowl when I get back from a run. And, of course, they sound great—guitar licks are nothing short of shimmering. They work with Android phones too, but you can also check out these other wireless headphones.

Best Running Tips for Women

You Can Do It

Fitness is not a one size fits all type of thing. So many of us get stuck in comparing our fitness journey with others. It is easy to get frustrated when you aren’t seeing the same results as others. You need to remember that all of our bodies are different and unique. The diet your friend is doing might not be as great for you as it is for her. It is important to figure out what works for you. Honestly you will never find happiness if you are constantly comparing yourself to others. Be true to yourself, and tell yourself that your goals is to look like and feel your best.

Work Out with Some Tunes

Working out is easier when you have music to listen to and motivate you. Put together a playlist of your favorite songs. Get ready to catch yourself humming through your workout.

Don’t be surprised if you end up keeping a steadier pace while listening. Music with a strong beat has been found to help people’s movements stay consistent during exercise. What are some of your favorite songs with a good beat?

Invest in Some Good Gear

It’s SO important that you invest in a good pair of quality running shoes and a supportive running bra. Getting the best running gear will not only motivate you to stay committed to your goal but it will also make the journey more enjoyable.

Don’t do it Alone

Achieving fitness success on it’s own is hard enough… doing it alone? There are so many women just like you on a fitness journey. Find a workout buddy or buddies. Working out with others keeps you accountable when you’re really not feeling it. You can even join an online community or group to encourage you. If you need someone, I am always here for you. I will be happy to be your biggest cheerleader.

Switch It Up

Don’t get complacent with doing only one type of exercise. There is such a thing as getting in a rut or over training. When I train for races, I switch up my workout routines to challenge my body in different ways and to strengthen other muscles. If you don’t switch things up your muscles adapt to your training. It will cause frustrating plateaus, but by constantly changing up your routines, your muscles won’t have time to adapt to your training.

Eat to Lose Fat

It’s more likely that your body will burn out if you try to lose fat by doing more running and less eating. The body will try to conserve calories and hence prevent you from losing stubborn fat. The better regime is to exercise moderately and try to consume more calories during the day than at night.

Be Cautious Running with Headphones

I know I gave you a suggestion for some of the best headphones, but running outdoors with loud music is a safety risk in many ways as it hinders your ability to hear cars, cyclists or anyone approaching you with the intent to harm.

Attackers often look for the victims that are vulnerable and oblivious to their surroundings and with headphones on, you paint a bright red mark on your back.

If you still want to listen to tunes, I recommend running with only one headphone in and listening to your music softly.
