Christmas is one of our favorite holidays. We also love scavenger hunts. So why not combine some of our favorite things? As an example, we’ve even played them while camping to distract the kids while we set up camp. Scavenger hunts allow children to focus on the little details around them along with fun sensory play.
Feel free to print out this free scavenger hunt below and look for items while you’re out doing Christmas festivals. Search and find things like lights, nutcrackers, mistletoe, presents, and ugly sweaters. You can even use or our Christmas coloring pages while you’re waiting in line for a fall festival item. First person to spot an item gets to check it off the list, and the person who finds all of the items first WINS!
Your family and friends will love this scavenger hunt, and you’re going to have an amazing time playing it this festive season!
What is a Scavenger Hunt?
A scavenger hunt is designed to lead a person (or a team of people) on a mission to seek and find all of the items on their list. The first person or team to find all the items first wins!
Some scavenger hunts require the players to physically collect the objects, but for this one, we’re using a simple checklist.
How to Play
So, how do you play a scavenger hunt? Well, be creative! There are so many ways to play, that I’ll just share a few of my favorite scavenger hunt ideas:
- Car Ride Christmas Scavenger Hunt – Load up in a car and drive around town to look at Christmas decorations. Work together, or compete, to see who can mark off the most Christmas items from the board.
- Christmas Scavenger Hunt Party Game – At a festively decorated Christmas Party, challenge guests to search the house in order to find as many Christmas items as they can (great for school Holiday parties, too!).
