Back to School is going to be here before you know it. Today Blondie & Red are sharing an easy crafts for kids that will make back to school fun. Introducing crafts with pom poms. They will be making a monster bookmark and a creature pencil toppers.
Pom Pom Monster Bookmarks
These monster bookmarks are perfect for little readers as well as advanced readers. Even if you have a kiddo that struggles with loving to read, making one of these silly bookmarks might just be the thing to encourage some reading! These little monsters can also be used as a pointer for early readers. The little monster head sticking out of your current book is so funny, you will want to make one for every book in the house!
For this project, you will need
- * pom poms
- * googly eyes
- * popsicle stick or card stock
- * pipe cleaner
- * hot glue gun or elmers glue
First step if you are using card stock is to fold the card stock paper in half. Glue this together. You will fold it in half again and glue it. While it dries you will start working on your monster.
Second step is to work on your monster. Get your pom pom and googly eyes. Glue the eyes to where you want it on your monster. You can add as many eyes as you’d like. You can also use piper cleaner to make horns or arms. Use the glue to attach the eyes, horns, or arms.
Next you will want to glue your pom pom monster to the bookmark. Put a dot on the back of your monster and put it on the bookmark. You can add more pom poms to the monster to make it bigger. Just let it dry and then you’re done.
Pom Pom Creature Pencil Topper
Pencil toppers will make writing and homework so much fun. These Pom Pom Monsters Pencil Toppers are super easy to make and your child will love them.
For this project, you will need:
- pipe cleaners
- pom pom
- googly eyes
- hot glue gun or Elmer’s glue
First step is to twist the pipe cleaner to make a circle at the end. Twist until you think it is big enough. You will glue your creature to this part of the pipe cleaner. Use the hot glue to attach your pom pom to the pipe cleaner.
The next step is to take the googly eyes and glue it to your pom pom. You can use as many eyes as you’d like. You can also use another pipe cleaner to add arms, horns, or whatever you’d like. Be creative and use your imagination.
Lastly, you will wrap the piper cleaner around your pencil. Keep wrapping until you get to the end. You can leave some piper cleaner long so your creature can hang off. Then your pom pom creature pencil topper will be ready.
